I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the English Department at the University of Iowa, where I teach Advanced Nonfiction Writing and Introduction to Rhetoric. I am a graduate of the University of Iowa's Nonfiction Writing Program (2025). Read a short interview here.
I write historical nonfiction, essays, and criticism. I am currently writing a book about how four schoolteachers weathered the political storms of the First and Second World Wars. Two chapters of this project are forthcoming in Sewanee Review in late 2025. In Spring 2025, I was a Marcus Bach Fellow at the University of Iowa. As a graduate student, I won the 2024 Doug Trank Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching & Mentoring. From 2015-2022, I taught History, English, and Theology at Catholic and Episcopal schools in Boston and Greenville, SC. I |
